A new way to live in an old home.
In Athens’ Boulevard Historic District, a deteriorated screened porch became an opportunity to improve everyday life. A 531-square-foot addition brings together living space, a side entry, a full bath, and laundry.
Charred wood cladding gives the new volume a distinct presence alongside the historic house. Sliding doors, clerestory windows, and a covered porch connect the rooms to the backyard. The result makes room for contemporary life while respecting the scale and character of its setting.
